YOUR METHODOLOGY MAPPING SESSION

The 45-Minute Conversation Where You Finally See It

By Declan Connolly – Founder, Courses Into Clients

You've Been Sitting With This

You’ve read the guide.

You’ve seen the patterns.

Something in it matched your experience closely enough that you’re still here.

Maybe it was the part about watching someone’s face go polite when you said what you do.

Or the referral that went nowhere because the person had nothing specific to pass along.

Yet you haven’t booked.

That’s not indecision.

That’s discernment.

There’s a difference, and it matters.

But if you’ve been “almost ready” for a while — I want to name what’s probably happening underneath.

Part of you already knows the methodology is there.

You can feel it. You’ve been running it for years.

Another part of you isn’t sure what happens if someone actually looks.

What if there’s nothing as structured as you hope?

What if it turns out to be “just intuition”?

Here’s what I can tell you after over two hundred of these conversations: the methodology is always there.

It is always more structured than she expected.

And the women who were most certain theirs wouldn’t be nameable — a somatic practitioner who said “you can’t name a feeling,” a spiritual director who said “what I do is sacred” — had some of the most elegant methodologies I’ve seen.

Your situation isn’t different.

Your methodology is.

That’s exactly the point.

And once it has a name — the methodology absorbs the scrutiny, not you.

You stand behind it.

It will allow your conversations to end differently — with a booking, not a business card.

It will enable your referrals to describe your work in one sentence instead of just vouching for you.

It will free you from reaching for language that never comes close.

Whenever you’re ready, the conversation is here:

What Actually Happens During The Session

I ask you about your last few clients.

Not your methodology.

Not your framework.

Just: what were they struggling with? What did you do? What changed?

You talk. I listen.

Usually around the fifteen-minute mark, I’ll say something like: “You just described the same pattern with three different clients. Did you notice that?”

Pause. Then: “I do that every time.”

That’s the moment.

Quiet. Not dramatic.

More like something you’ve always half-known finally becoming visible.

By minute twenty-five, you’ll hear your methodology described back to you — the stages, the diagnostic moves, the arc.

Named. In your own words, with my framing.

There’s nothing to prepare.

Nothing to get right.

Nothing to perform.

You just show up and talk about the people you’ve helped.

What They Said About The Call

Simone, Stress Mastery & Goal Accelerator:

Tara, Astrology/Spirituality:

It will do the same for you.

Not because you’ll become someone different — but because the methodology will finally have the language it’s been waiting for.

It will allow your expertise to be seen the way your clients have always seen it.

It will enable the right people to find you — without you performing, promoting, or explaining yourself into exhaustion.

Why This Call Feels Different

You’ve probably been on calls that were really just pitches with a question at the start.

Five minutes of questions that don’t matter, then the pivot: “So let me tell you about what we offer.”

This is not that.

You talk about your clients. I listen for the methodology.

Whether you choose to work with me afterward is a separate decision that happens later, on your own time, at your own pace.

Three things come out of forty-five minutes:

**The Methodology Outline** — your process, named and reflected back. In your language, with my framing. Yours regardless of what you decide.

**The Recording and Notes** — sent to you after the call so you can re-listen.

**The Honest Answer** — whether positioning is the real constraint, and if it isn’t, what actually is. If there’s nothing to name, I’ll tell you.

That’s been the case exactly once out of over two hundred conversations — and even she had something, it just needed a different approach.

But you should know I’d say it.

You Don't Need To Feel Ready

Patricia sat with the guide for twenty-three days before booking.

Margaret for nineteen.

Every one of them said the same thing afterward:

“I knew I would eventually. I just needed to sit with it first.”

Not one of them felt ready when they booked.

Readiness isn’t the requirement.

You just need to show up and talk about your clients.

That’s all.

The woman who finishes this conversation has the same expertise she walked in with.

Same depth. Same clients.

But she can see what she couldn’t see before.

And being seen for it changes something.

Once the methodology has a name — she stops being a practitioner who does great work and becomes the creator of it.

And afterward — it’s the methodology that gets evaluated.

Not you. You stand behind it, not in front of it.

Think about your last three clients.

If the process you ran with each of them followed a consistent pattern — even though the content was different — the methodology is already there.

Unnamed. But operating.

The session is where it becomes visible.

Once it’s named, it does the work you’ve been doing alone.

It will allow your website to finally sound like you.

It will give your conversations structure so they carry twenty years of depth without you carrying it yourself.

It will enable your referrals to describe what you do — not just recommend you.

And the people who need what you do — who are out there right now, looking for someone exactly like you — it will let them find you.
